The Eyethu Story

Located in the heart of Soweto, Eyethu Heritage Hall (EHH) is both a museum exhibition and cultural venue dedicated to celebrating Black heritage and creativity. It stands on the proud legacy of Eyethu Cinema, one of South Africa's first Black-owned cinemas, founded by E.B. & C.K Tshabalala.

We preserve its story while reimagining its impact for new generations. More than a physical space, EHH is a movement, carrying the stories of Black excellence, creativity, and resilience beyond our walls. Wherever there's a story to tell, we bring it to life.
